What SIMA does with the information you give us, and what we do not do with it.
Who processes your data

What we collect, and why
Only what is needed to put together a quotation. Nothing else is asked for, and nothing is inferred from the way you browse.
- Your name and contact details: name, email address, telephone number, postcode. Without them we cannot get back to you.
- If you are a trade customer: company, company registration (SIRET) number, VAT number, preferred collection method. They allow us to raise the quotation in the right name and to apply the right VAT treatment.
- If you are a private customer: floor area, timber species, condition of the surface. They allow us to work out how much consumable you need and to point you to the right grit.
- Your request: the items you selected, the quantities, your message and the timescale you need.
On what legal basis
On pre-contractual measures taken at your request, within the meaning of Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation: you ask us for a price, we process your details in order to give it to you. No processing is based on marketing.
For how long
3 years from our last exchange, then automatic deletion of the request and of the quotation attached to it. That period matches the time during which a commercial relationship can resume without starting over.
Who has access
The people at SIMA who handle requests, and no one else: accounts on this site are personal and compartmentalised, an account that updates the catalogue cannot see requests.
To which our hosting provider is added, running the servers without making any use of the data. No data is passed on to a third party for commercial purposes, sold or rented.
Where your data is held
In France, on dedicated infrastructure. No transfer outside the European Union. This site uses no American analytics service, no remotely loaded font, no third-party video player: even the protection against bots runs on our own servers.
Paying by card
Payment takes place on our invoicing service, on a separate page. No card details pass through this site and none are stored here.
Your rights
You may ask for access to your data, its rectification, its erasure, the restriction of its processing, object to that processing, and ask for a portable copy of it.
Write to sima@sima.fr or call 03 87 71 37 50. We answer within one month. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter to the French supervisory authority: Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, 3 place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, cnil.fr. That is where the company is established.
