Note on content

What on this site was produced by a machine, and what was not.

Why this page exists

Because anyone looking at a website is entitled to know what they are looking at. We would rather say it once, plainly, on a page you can read in full, than attach to every image a note nobody reads and that ends up missing somewhere.

The generated images

Ten images on this site are not photographs. They were produced by an image generation model. None of them shows a machine from the catalogue: they are working situations, and the machines they show do not exist.

  • The home page banner: a sanding scene.
  • The six technical guide illustrations: one per guide, at the head of the article and as a thumbnail in the list.
  • The three background images separating the sections of the home page. They are deliberately blurred: they are scenery, not information.

They are holding the place of real site photographs until the shoot planned at SIMA takes place. When that happens, the images will go, and this page will say so.

What is not generated

  • The catalogue photographs: the 349 product images are real photographs of the machines, abrasives and products we sell. None has been retouched by a model.
  • The technical specifications: dimensions, grits, power ratings and part numbers come from the manufacturers.
  • The catalogue descriptions: they come from our own records and from the manufacturers' documentation. The French version is a translation of nothing.

The translations

The German, English and Luxembourgish versions of the product pages were produced by machine translation from the French, then put through a check covering numbers, units and the required technical vocabulary.

Where there is any doubt, the French version prevails. If a wording looks wrong in your language, tell us at sima@sima.fr and we will correct it.

Who generates, and where

The synthetic images on this site were produced using the technologies of Diamontis Informatique, which designed and builds this site.

They run on its own machines, in France. No content from this site, no visitor data and no request has been sent to an online artificial intelligence service.
